Show Notes

Edith Giovanna Gassion Piaf, born on her doorstep as the story she stuck with on December 19, 1915.  A very tough childhood after her mother abandoned her, a grandmother that gave her wine instead of water and another that raised her in a brothel.

Through all of this, she became one of the most beloved French singers in the world. To this day you would be hard-pressed to find someone that hasn't heard her music or know her name.

Her life was filled with sadness and tragedy but her voice lifted up generations and still does today.  Madame Piaf took her last breath on October 19, 1963, at the young age of 47. Merci Madame for all the wonderful music and cementing your voice to our beloved Paris and France.
